PG medical students protest in front of KEA

Last Updated 08 June 2015, 19:11 IST

Around 70 Post Graduate Medical students staged a protest in the City on Monday in front of the Karnataka Examinations Authority urging the department not to de-categorise the seats meant for in-service, SC and ST students.

The KEA is conducting the third and final round of counselling for medical/ dental courses.
According to officials in the medical education department, as per regulations, seats in the last round of counselling are de-categorised. This means that, all the seats remaining in the last round of admissions are offered on general merit and no reservation provisions apply.

The students, however, sought reservations for this round too. The KEA started the counselling process at about 11 am on Monday and the process was still in progress at 10 pm.
