A 29-year-old employee with Idea telecom company was robbed of cash and recharge coupons worth Rs 57,000 in east Delhi’s Nand Nagri on Saturday evening.
The two robbers were armed with guns and they even fired two rounds in the air when the victim refused to hang over his bag.

They finally placed a gun on his forehead, forcing him to step back.
Gaurav Kumar Yadav lives with his grandmother in east Delhi’s Shahdara.

He works for Idea in the same area. He was on a visit to a place near Ramlila Ground in Sundar Nagri to collect documents from some potential customers when the incident took place.

While Yadav was looking around for the address of one of the customers, two men in their 20s approached him on a motorcycle and offered to lead him to the place. Yadav agreed and followed them.

As soon as they reached an isolated spot, one of the suspects pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot him if he did not part with his bag.

But Yadav refused and a tug of war ensued between him and the other robber.
This prompted the gun-wielding robber to fire two shots in the air.
Taking the cue from him, the other robber too pulled out a pistol and pointed it to Yadav’s forehead.

With that, Yadav ended his resistance and handed over his bag. The suspects then sped away on their motorcycle. The bag contained Rs 32,000 in cash and recharge coupons worth Rs 25,000.

Yadav later told police that the incident left him shocked because of which he was unable to note down the motorcycle’s registration number plate.

A case was registered with Nand Nagri police station. The victim has said he could identify the suspects if presented before him, but police are yet to find any clue in the case.
