Two killed in accidents

Two people, including a KSRTC bus driver, were killed in separate road accidents in the City.

Mahadevappa Uppar, a native of Belgaum, was walking along the road, when a rashly driven private bus knocked him down near Gopalan Mall on Mysuru Road on Tuesday morning, the police said.

Uppar was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
The police have arrested the driver and seized the bus.

In another accident, a 22-year-old youth rammed his bike into a tree and died of head injuries near Gruhalakshmi Layout in Peenya on Monday night.

The police identified the victim as Anand, a private firm employee and resident of Peenya second stage. He was returning home around 10.30 pm when the accident occurred. The police said he was heavily drunk.
