Being crazy about gadgets, brands and grooming themselves is what they like. They love spending time in picking up their clothes which matches their style. Though the term ‘Metrosexual’ is accepted by only a few, it is not acknowledged by many.

When it comes to fashion trends, the metrosexual man pays attention to the current fashion trends and finds a way of incorporating them into his personal style. “I match a white-framed glass with my white piped orange T-shirt, which I pair up with blue jeans,” says Saahil Yadav, a wedding planner at Event Plus Infotainment. He loves experimenting with his styles like combining Indian retro with western outfits. He tells Metrolife, “I like bright colours like orange, lime green, yellow and black during night times.”

Yadav follows Milan and Paris fashion weeks and has a special collection of watches for different occasions.Preetish, an IT business analyst at HCL says, “I customise my suit according to my body shape and pair it with Italian leather shoes for my formals.” Recently for his cousin’s marriage Preetish opted for an indo-western ensemble by designer Rohit Bal and says he “felt good standing out in the crowd.”

As a corporate person Aditya Gupta, who works as a brand manager of a telecom software company, prefers apt formals for weekdays and casuals for weekends. He sometimes chooses dark blue shirt with cream trousers and formal shoes and loves flaunting his watches. He says “I prefer loud colours like red, royal blue, purple and match them accordingly.”

The metrosexuals give special attention to their hair and skin care, as compared to the average men. They know what haircut suits them. “I love going for manicure and pedicure, I feel it’s hygienic and I feel satisfied,” says Preetis  h. He goes for haircut and changes his hair style at least thrice in a month.

Gupta, who is more concerned about his looks says, “I often go for facial and skin care treatments that involve exfoliating and moisturising of the skin, so that itlooks healthier.”
When it comes to their body, these metrosexual men are supremely conscious and make an effort to stay physically fit and to eat healthy. They prefer being “not so slim and not so huge.” This is another additional factor to their looks and they don’t miss working out. “If I don’t go for gym it’s the same feeling as though I didn’t brush my teeth,” says Preetish.

These young men feel that being conscious about taking care of oneself, be it eating right, exercising, shaving, or bathing or shopping for clothes that actually flatters and makes them look good, is not something that only women are supposed to do. So, paying attention to your appearance does not mean you become self-absorbed
and conceited either.
