No proposal for Vastrabhagya: CM

There is no proposal for the ‘Vastrabhagya’ scheme before the State government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, contradicting Textile Minister Baburao Chinchansur’s statement.

Addressing reporters here on Friday, Siddaramaiah said the Cabinet hadn’t taken any decision on the matter.

“There is no proposal before the government for any such scheme. I’m not aware of the statement made by Chinchansur,” he said.

Chinchansur on Thursday had said the Textile department had proposed the Vastrabhagya scheme to provide clothes, either free or at subsidised rates, to BPL families in Karnataka.
