JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, on Monday, criticized chief minister’s projects for the city, by saying that Siddaramaiah had no vision for Bengaluru city development and his frequent city tours were only contributing to the traffic problem.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, he told Deccan Herald: “The chief minister has not taken any measures to upgrade infrastructure in Bengaluru in the last two years. His frequent city tours are nothing but a poll gimmick and are only aggravating the traffic problem.” The people of Bengaluru have lost hope on this government, he added.

Peripheral ring road
The work peripheral ring road, proposed in 2006-07, has not moved an inch forward so far but the cost of the project has shot up from Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 8,900 crore.

The chief minister has now announced to construct three elevated roads in the City and yet has not revealed the source of money for these projects which is a clear indication that the elevated road projects will meet the same fate as peripheral ring road, Kumaraswamy said.
