Dabang Delhi on Monday unveiled a revamped look with a fresh logo and increased support staff, led by new head coach, former India captain and Arjuna Awardee Honnappa Gowda, as they prepare for the second season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), scheduled from July 18- August 23.

Delhi finished sixth last season in the eight team competition. One of their flaws was defensive blunders. Speaking on the occasion new coach Gowda said they have analysed the defensive faults and have tried to rectify that. “To defend effectively, communication between players and executing strategies in different combinations will be crucial,” said Gowda

Further, he also mentioned that the team would study the strong points of the opposition and try to attack them with their strengths.

“Each game would be different, we will try to work around our team composition and work our strategies accordingly,” added Gowda.

The presence of Dr Sandip Kumar, the team management is hoping, would condition the squad to get through the schedule of the tournament.

“Kabaddi is no different than rugby or football, it demands supreme fitness and I will be taking care of diet, training, bio-mechanics and fitness of the players,” said Kumar.
