City police apprehend two-wheeler lifter

Mandi police arrested a two-wheeler lifter from the neighbouring Chamarajanagar district and recovered two motorbikes worth Rs 1 lakh.

Rizwan Pasha, aged 33 years, a native of Galipura in Chamarajanagar district is the accused.

The policemen on patrol took Pasha into custody on June 16, after he was found trying to sell a motorcycle for a song, near Mission Hospital Circle. During interrogation, he confessed to have lifted one motorcycle each from Saraswatipuram and K R Nagar police limits.

The police team, led by Inspector Lakshmikanth Talawar, consisted of SIs Yasmeen Taj and Ramakrishna, according to a release from the police commissioner’s office.

One held
In a joint operation, the city crime branch (CCB) police and Food and Civil Supplies department officials raided a scrap yard on Kyatamaranahalli Main Road here and arrested one on the charge of illegal gas refilling. Four domestic cylinders and one commercial cylinder have been seized.

Shahnawaz alias Shanu, aged 30 years, a resident of Rajiv Nagar is the accused.
The case has been referred to Udaygiri police station.

The police team was led by Inspectors K C Prakash, H T Suneel Kumar and Mohammed Hashmath Khan (CCB), comprising SI Jayasheelan.
