An incident of Information Minister Roshan Baig speaking rudely to journalists, who were officially invited to meet him, occurred at the minister’s chamber in Vikas Soudha on Wednesday.
Reporters who were on the secretariat beat were told by an information department officer that Baig would like to speak to them. But, as reporters entered the minister’s chamber, Baig told the scribes that he would address them later. Then for some reason, Baig addressing reporters in singular said, “I have said I will speak to you later. Can’t you understand Kannada? Should I speak in English ?”.
The reporters left his chamber opposing the manner in which he addressed them. Baig wanted to convey that he had been authorised by the chief minister to resolve the ongoing crisis in the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.
