A 16-year-old girl was stabbed for refusing to share her elder sister’s phone number with a stalker in east Delhi’s Vivek Vihar on Monday, reportd DHNS from New Delhi.

The accused has been identified but is absconding.

Victim Pinki is a native of Bihar and lives with her family in Shahdara.
She is a class 7 student at a local school. Police said she was discharged from the hospital after treatment of the stab wound she sustained in her arm.

Pinki was on her way to buy milk from the local dairy around 9 pm when she was suddenly confronted by local youth Vicky at an isolated spot of the road.

He asked her for her elder sister’s mobile phone number which she refused to reveal.
This left Vicky enraged as he abused and pushed her. When she stood up to him, Vicky pulled out a sharp instrument and attacked her in the marketplace.

She sustained an injury to her right wrist and began screaming in pain.
That drew the attention of some passers-by who began gathering at the spot. Seeing people come out in Pinki’s support, Vicky fled from the spot, but not before issuing threats of eliminating Pinki and her brothers if he failed to gather her sister’s phone number.

The girl returned home and informed her family. Police were called and Pinki taken to Hedgewar Hospital in a police control room van. Once she was treated, she and her brothers visited Vivek Vihar police station to register a complaint.

A case of causing hurt with dangerous weapons, criminal intimidation and wrongful confinement was registered based on her statement.

She also provided police Vicky’s address and said he had been stalking her sister for long and their warnings to keep away proved no deterrence for him.
