Cocooned in a residential area on the road parallel to the BDA Complex in Indiranagar is the tranquil ‘Yogi-sthaan’. As one enters, they feel a positive and peaceful aura that will instantly make them feel relaxed; as the name denotes, it is a place for all those who want to spend some quiet time by themselves or with their loved ones, undisturbed.

“‘Yogi-sthaan’ is a place for the yogis, in a sense those who are dedicated to their work and passion; a space for all those who do not want to be disturbed when working. The concept came about when I was out and away from my family and noticed that there is no such place that offers a ‘yogi lifestyle’ or a menu and space that keeps people at home, away from home”, shares Ajithsingh Tapasvi, the founder. “We find a very aware crowd coming in to our cafe,” he adds.

The menu at the cafe consists of purely organic food and they use fresh cow ghee and extra virgin olive oil to prepare the food.

‘Tofu brown rice’, which has zucchini, broccoli, onions, garlic, tomatoes, carrots and red, yellow and green peppers, is extremely popular with the visitors. The wholesome ‘Maxi-protein burger’, seasoned with olives, sundried tomatoes, almonds, spinach and cherry, is a must have, and the ‘Quinoa burger’ has a unique dressing of watermelon seeds mixed with basil, coriander and spring onions. It is served with homemade hummus.

The salads are also regularly ordered at ‘Yogi-sthaan’. The menu is creatively categorised into ‘breakfast’, ‘cold and hot beverages’, ‘simply and harmoniously juiced drinks’, which have a variety of juices made from unique ingredients that are healthy, fresh and help detoxicate, ‘soups’, ‘salads’, ‘sandwiches’ and ‘burgers and tartines’. There is also a ‘health corner’ where one gets raw vegetables, grains and pastas.

There is a yogi corner which serves a ‘yogi breakfast’ for those who are on the lookout for a healthy start to their day. This menu contains ingredients like amaranth, and dishes like oat porridge, multi-vitamins juice, coffee, tea and the ‘Yoga meal’, with items like ‘Quinoa taboule’, ‘Mini-fig salad’, ‘Yogurt with granola’, fruits and honey and desserts.

Ajithsingh explains, “One of the unique factors of ‘Yogi-sthaan’ is that the food is served in utensils made of tin and copper, popularly known as ‘Kansa’, which in itself has its health benefits. It cleanses your liver and lungs and detoxes your body.” This cafe caters to fresh, healthy food from local farmers and also its own organic store which is known for its in house quinoa. Apart from the cafe, there is a ‘yoga centre’ that offers personalised yoga sessions.
