'I can't ask for anything better'

It’s every actor’s dream to work with director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) at least once in his or her career. And the latest to join that bandwagon is Sandalwood actress Parul Yadav, who has been chosen to play a prominent role in ‘Killing Veerappan’, also starring actor Shivarajkumar. “It has been my dream to work with RGV and Shivarajkumar. Now, looks like both these things have come true in one project. I can’t ask for anything better,” she confesses.

Parul recollects that ‘Sarkar’ has by far been RGV’s best film. “When I watched the film, I realised that RGV is someone who likes his pool of actors to be as natural as possible. He’s known for narrating real stories in the most dramatic way possible. I am sure working with him will be a great experience,” feels Parul. She also thinks that he will bring out the best in her.

Parul says it’s the cast and the storyline that prompted her to sign on the dotted line. ‘Killing Veerappan’ is a real story and it also has a well-researched script.

“Real stories have always intrigued me and it’s quite tough to portray something that once happened in real on the big screen. I’ve always envied actresses like Priyanka Chopra, who played the character of Mary Kom. These are stories that leave a lasting impression on people,” she adds.

Parul refused to divulge details of the character that she’s slated to play in ‘Killing Veerappan’ but assures that it will surprise the audience. “I can’t say much but it’s a de-glamourised role. I am not allowed to share more details,” she says.

Parul is currently working on a film titled, ‘Jessie’. “A lot of people have commented on the title of the film saying that it’s a household name in the Christian community. But interestingly, Jessie is the name of a Brahmin boy who falls in love with a Christian girl. It’s a love triangle where I date two men at the same time,” she explains.

The film also features actors Dhananjaya and Raghu Mukherjee. “Romance is an interesting genre and this project has given me a chance to explore that to the fullest,” she sums up.
