Mobile advertising network InMobi, as a part of its brand new culture “YaWio”, has resolved to take the time off daily business, and make an effort to solve some of humanity’s greatest problems.

“‘YaWio’, the two-day long fest, is one of the most powerful things that we have come up with as a company, and given out to the world,” said Naveen Tewari, founder and CEO, InMobi.

XPRIZE, Magic Bus, and Team Indus are presenting some of the world’s greatest concerns in the form of well-defined challenges. More than 600 InMobians are going to attempt at solutions in extensive hackathons, over the next two days. XPRIZE is a non-profit organisation that designs and manages competitions, intended to encourage technological development, which could benefit mankind.

“Ordinary people can achieve great things, they just have to be incentivised,” said Zenia Tata, Executive Director (Global Development), XPRIZE.

Magic Bus, an organisation that aims to take children out of poverty through a programme of mentoring and coaching, has presented the challenge of ‘Transmitting education content on low bandwidth’. Mathew Spacie, Founder of Magic Bus said that he was looking at technology to aid in communication that would enable a potential funder to understand the impact of a Magic Bus programme, by connecting him with Magic Bus representatives across India, who could in turn communicate to them the status of their programme. The final challenge has been thrown by Team Indus, an aerospace startup which is basically a finalist in XPRIZE’s Google Lunar XPRIZE mission.
