Probe into fund release to tackle sea erosion sought

Shivamoga MP and former CM Yeddyurappa demanded probe into crores of funds released to tackle sea erosion menace.

Briefing reporters, he said an in depth inquiry should be taken up for Rs 900 crore released to build sea walls to protect shore stretching from Karwar to Ullal against sea erosion.

He said police should increase beats in Byndoor area, wherein girls are found murdered. He said recently killed Akshatha Devadiga was a brilliant student and demanded government to support the family. He expressed dissatisfaction over the incomplete probe into Ratna Kotari suspicious death case.

He said the road in the area is totally destroyed and assured to release funds of Rs 5 lakh from the MP fund.

He said he has spoken to union railway minister to release funds for Konkan Railway route doubling and electrification. Party members would take out on June 28  padyatra covering 20 km from Ankalagi to Belagum condemning the government attitude that paved way for the suicide of farmer Vittal Harbhavi.

Threatening that the forthcoming Belgaum session would be a mess, he said government should take immediate decision to support sugarcane farmers.

Demanding minor irrigation minister Shivraj Tangadagi’s resignation holding him responsible for murder of Yellalinga who questioned him over the progress in development works in Kanakapura, he said there would be massive protest rally in Koppala on June 27.

He said he has adopted Keradi village in Byndoor and Rs 1 crore was released for its development. Another Rs 2 crore would be released  under NABRD Yojane. He said Rs 554 crore is released from the Centre to Mangaluru, Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikmagalur districts under Deen Dayal Grama Jyoti Yojana and Integrated Power Development Scheme.

The programme would enable electrification process in rural area and would also facilitate lessening of overload pressure in the areas.

Alleging the State government of irresponsible attitude, the former CM said resource mobilisation in State is nil. The development aspect is totally ignored. He said denotification of land is the process executed during the tenure of all chief ministers previously, however, the government is planning to frame him and former CM Kumaraswami.

He said he has confidence in law and justice would not be denied. He said stringent protest would be taken up jointly by him and former PM Devegowda and former CM Kumaraswami to condemn the government approach. There should not be any special message, as both parties would play the role of opposition parties, he added.
