Governor S S Sidhu’s office said a report had been sought on Rahul’s visit to the university after the BJP protested the Congress MP’s use of university premises for party meetings. The governor is chancellor of Goa University.

Rahul Gandhi who was here on a ‘flying’ visit as part of his drive to win over young hearts to the party, faced some tough questions from students packed into the university football ground. One of them asked why the Congress had appointed a man with a criminal background like Minister Babush Monserrate to run the education ministry.
An embarrassed Rahul passed on many such provocative queries to Chief Minister Digambar Kamat who had a tough time fielding them himself.

Gandhi later addressed Youth Congress and PCC members in the university’s administrative block. The BJP on Friday gheraoed the university registrar insisting that the official resign for allowing political meetings to take place on varsity grounds.
