Tempo kills pedestrian

The victim Hanumantha Rao (31) sustained severe head injuries and died on the way to the hospital.

Adugodi police have seized the vehicle. The van driver is absconding.

Two injured

Two persons sustained injuries when they were trying to escape, fearing attack by elephants on Sunday morning. The incident occurred in Suvarnamukhi forest area near Bannerghatta.

Madhusudhan and his friend Madhu, both from Adugodi were hospitalised following the incident. They are out of danger, Bannerghatta police said.

The duo and their friends went for an excursion near Bannerghatta. They managed to sneak into Suvarnamukhi forest area. Minutes after their entry, they spotted some elephants and began to run away towards a safer place.

Madhusudhan and Madhu fell down after losing balance and sustained injuries on their legs, hands, face and head. Madhusudhan is a second year PU student of Saraladevi College in Jayanagar, police added.

Painter bludgeoned

A painter was bludgeoned to death in Ramamurthynagar on Sunday. Senthil (25) from Tamil Nadu was staying with his brother in Ramamurthynagar.

Senthil’s body was found in a desolate open space near New Horizon College in Kasturinagar.

Senthil left his house in the morning, but did not return. A few persons, who noticed the body, informed the police.

The investigation by a team of police is on.

Woman robbed

A woman was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs 45,000 in Subramanyanagar on Sunday morning.

B N Manjula was on her way to buy milk on 12th Main Road when miscreants on two-wheelers approached her and snatched her chain, the police said.
