Last Updated 09 July 2015, 19:44 IST

In order to mount pressure on Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the state Congress will meet Rajasthan governor to demand Raje’s resignation on Friday.

The party has also arranged for a two-day visit of the party vice-president Rahul Gandhi to Rajasthan.

“We are meeting Rajasthan governor on Friday to demand the chief minister’s immediate removal. Right from giving an affidavit to Lalit Modi in England to the illegal transactions to route black money in India, Raje is in the middle of everything,” said PCC chief Sachin Pilot.

According to recent reports, she had even recommended Lalit Modi for the Padma award in 2007. It is simply beyond imagination, he added.

In order to corner Raje politically, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be on two-day visit to Rajasthan from July 16.

Sources in the party said that Rahul will hold three -hour-long walk in Hanumangarh district but the place is yet to be finalised.
