<p> Governor Vajubhai Vala is learnt to have, on Thursday, directed the State government to submit a report on farmers’ suicide and steps taken to provide relief to farmers.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The governor has sought the report following a spurt in the cases of farmers’ suicides. As many as 68 farmers ended their lives since April this year. The majority of the cases are reported from Mandya district.<br /><br />It is said that the governor has also sought a report on the cases pending before it, seeking its nod for prosecuting the officials on corruption charges. But there is no official confirmation in this regard. <br /><br />As many as 107 cases are said to be pending before the government seeking prosecution permission.<br /></p>
