CPM State Secretary  G V Sriram Reddy has alleged both BJP-led government at Centre and Congress-led State government are two faces of the same coin when it comes to corruption and economic policies.

Speaking at the political convention organised by District CPM unit, the leftist leader said the blame game between two is political gimmick and both governments are in the race for highest corruption.

He said both governments would lead the nation towards economic bankruptcy. The liberalisation and privatisation policies are detrimental for the well being of the nation. He said the one year governance of Modi government and two years rule of Siddaramaiah government in State has created economic imbalance, leading to increase of poverty ratio.

PM controlled by RSS

Reddy said PM Modi is controlled by RSS leaders, while economic policy the government pursues is proving hazardous to the progress of the nation. He said the cabinet is inactive, as all decisions concerning is taken at PMO.

He questioned the Prime Minister for his silence on mass corruption in his party adding how could the PM claim credit for corruption free governance. The government is taking the legacy forward of the policies introduced by former UPA government.

The inequality in resource distribution is evident as nearly 98 per cent of nation’s wealth is possessed by mere two per cent of population. He alleged that production in the agricultural sector is drastically decreased, while industrial growth is also hampered.

Purchasing capacity

The 4.6 per cent growth in 2011 in industrial sector is decreased to 1.6 per cent at present. The purchasing capacity of people is decreased and living style in the country is below average.

He said nearly 14 per cent unorganised sectors are paid very less. The government has not even earmarked two per cent of total budget to agricultural sector. He said government has ensured 5.40 lakh crore tax exemptions for corporate. The new land ordinance has left no safety clauses for poor land holders especially farmers.

Coming down on State government, Reddy said the government has failed to ensure the resignation of Lokayukta. The issue is taking an ugly turn. Nearly 12.40 lakh applications are pending before Akrama-Sakrama committee for disposal.

He said CPM had collected 36 lakh applications from the homeless needy and had forwarded it to the government. The government has not responded. Nearly 112 farmers have committed suicide in State in one month. He said the party would protest from August 1 to 14 midnight, against the Centre and State governments for failing to ensure decent livelihood for poor class.
