<div>Six traffic policemen, who were voted as the best traffic policemen by public, were presented Top Cop awards at a function held at Traffic Management Centre here on Saturday. <br /><br />Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M A Saleem presented the awards that included a memento and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to Nagaraju (constable-Peenya traffic police station) and Venkatesh (HC-Peenya traffic police station), Rame Gowda and Vijay Kumar (Head Constables-City Market traffic police station) and Gopalakrishna and Narayanswamy (Head Constables-Indiranagar traffic police station).<br /><br />Traffic Police Care (TPC), an NGO run by Traffic Police Care trust created by the like-minded people in the City, instituted the award with the aim of recognising good work done by traffic police through public voting.<br /><br />The citizens called up and cast their votes in favour of a traffic policeman based on his duty-mindedness. The Top Cops are chosen based on the highest number of votes secured by policemen. <br /><br />“Alert persons are recognising the services of traffic policemen who serve despite heavy rains, scorching sun, gusty winds, congestion and pollution. It is a healthy development. The honour will surely make the policemen more responsible and will encourage them to work hard,” Saleem said and added that public should appreciate the good work done by the traffic policemen.<br /><br />TPC founder Santosh, Flipkart Chief Communications Officer Mekhin Maheshwari and Lava International vice-president Sachin D Nayak were present.<br /><br /></div>
