3 GPs to get new buildings

Approval for construction of sports hostel in Kolar

Legislator R Varthur Prakash announced this after launching works on the construction of building, at an estimated cost of Rs 16.5 lakh, for Doddahasala Gram Panchayat on Wednesday.

He said, the proposal was sent for seven buildings and three of them have been sanctioned. The Land Army Corporation has been entrusted with the responsibility of the construction works, he added.

He said, the Town Municipality Council building construction works will also be given to the Land Army Corporation which , he hoped, would ensure quality of works.

Following complaints about slow pace of progress in the construction of mini-stadium in Kolar, the minister said Rs 50 lakh has been released after a meeting with Minister for Sports and Youth Services Goolihatti Shekhar. The remaining sum of Rs 35 lakh will also be released soon, he promised.

He also said that the Sports Minister has approved construction of sports hostel near Vishweshwaraiah stadium. The project is estimated to cost Rs one-crore, he added.

Stating that the list of reservations for Gram Panchayat elections has been published, he called upon the party leaders and the activists to strengthen the party and lead it to victory. He told them to check groupism in the villages and work with unity to win maximum number of seats.

Rural Block Congress President Begli Sooryaprakash, Zilla Panchayat member Balaji Channaiah, Taluk Panchayat member Govindaraju, Gram Panchayat President Srinivas, Vice-President Jayamma, City Municipality Council former president C Raghuram, Gram Panchayat former president Manjunath, leaders Chatrakodihalli Rajagopal, Venkateshgowda, Sriramareddy, Jagannath, Gopal, Sridhar, Krishnappa, Narayanaswamy and Mohammed Ali of Doddahasala village were present.
