The film was originally scheduled to go on floors in September. Says Jagadish, “The shoot got delayed as we were searching for the correct chimpanzee.
Then we had to obtain permission to use the animal in the film. Besides, the chimp has received 50 days of training.
In Appu-Pappu, we will showcase some adventures of the chimpanzee. One that has never been shown before and the bond between the animal and the little boy will be the focus,” says Jagadish.
Appu-Pappu which began shooting from January 19 in Cambodia will stay in the country for 25 days. Abbas, Rekha, Rangayana Raghu and Komal form the rest of the cast.
Krishna is the cinematographer and Hamsalekha has penned lyrics and provided music.
