About a hundred Congress cadres, including TNCC President EVKS Elangovan, were arrested for trying to stage a black flag demonstration during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival here.
Elangovan and party cadres gathered at Egmore area to plan the black flag demonstration to condemn the suspension of 25 Lok Sabha MPs belonging to Congress.
They also raised slogans against the suspension. However, police arrested the protestors even before Modi could arrive in the city from the airport.
