Unhappy over Prime Minister Narendra Modi not withdrawing his uncharitable remarks against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Janata Dal (United) and the RJD have decided to make it a poll weapon and launch a counter-offensive against the BJP on Tuesday.

“Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad will jointly launch ‘take back your words’ campaign from tomorrow (Tuesday) in which the prime minister will be appealed to withdraw his DNA remarks made against the Chief Minister. His comment, which was a deliberate slur against Nitish ji, was in bad taste. It has not only hurt the JD(U) strongman’s pride but offended the sentiments of every Bihari,” said party spokesperson Ajay Alok.

Sources said about 50 lakh people from Bihar would get their DNA test done and will eventually send the report to the prime minister as a token protest for making offending remarks against Nitish. It is pertinent to mention here that Modi, while addressing his first rally in Bihar after taking over as the prime minister, had made this remark against Nitish in Muzaffarpur on July 25 when he said: “There is something wrong in his DNA.”

Deeply hurt over such comments from someone of prime minister’s stature, Nitish decided to protest the derogatory remarks. The chief minister tweeted he was son of a freedom fighter and entire Bihar was in his DNA. Earlier, he had closed his tweet saying he was leaving it to the people of Bihar to respond to the prime minister’s offensive language.
