He was delivering a talk at the special lecture programme organised as part of 500thyear of coronation ceremony of Krishnadevaraya at the Government Arts College in Tumkur on Thursday. The programme was organised by the National Service Scheme.
Historians have found many instances to prove that members of all caste and communities enjoyed equality during Krishnadevaraya’s reign, he added. History professor T Srinivasa Reddy spoke on Vijayanagar kingdom, Krishnadevaraya’s achievements and his administration. College principal Prof Ramachandrappa presided.
NSS officer Pro G Dakshayini and Prof Shivaramaiah were present.
