The Congress has fielded 46 graduates, two doctors, nine engineers and seven advocates among others in the election to Bruhat Bengaluru Managara Palike.
Of the 198 candidates from the party, 34 have passed pre-university and 54 have SSLC as their qualification.
There are also 12 candidates who hold master’s degree.
Age-wise, as many as 162 candidates are aged less than 50 years. The party has fielded 13 contestants below 30 years; 61 aged between 31 and 40; 88 aged between 41 and 50; 34 aged between 50 and 60, and two candidates above 60 years.
Going by caste, 68 are from Backward Classes, 49 are Vokkaligas, 31 are from Scheduled Castes, 23 are Muslims, 15 are Reddys, four are from Scheduled Tribes, three each candidates are Lingayats and Christians and two are Brahmins.
