Youth stabbed to death

A 26-year-old youth was stabbed to death by his rival as they quarrelled over an old matter at Chamundi Nagar in RT Nagar on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the deceased, Rizwan Pasha, a resident of Chamundi Nagar, worked in a welding shop. Around 11 pm, the accused, Nayaz, along with two of his associates, went to Pasha’s house.

Soon Pasha and Nayaz engaged in a discussion which turned into a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Nayaz stabbed Pasha with a knife.

Pasha’s brother Wasim, upon hearing his brother’s cries, rushed to his help. But Nayaz’s associates overpowered Wasim and Nayaz repeatedly stabbed Pasha. Pasha collapsed while Nayaz and his associates fled the spot.

Wasim rushed Pasha to a hospital but was declared brought dead. In 2013, Nayaz and Pasha had assaulted each other and a case was registered against them. Nayaz was pestering Pasha to withdraw the case but Pasha had not budged.

On Tuesday, Nayaz urged Pasha again to withdraw the case, to which Pasha did not relent. A furious Nayaz stabbed Pasha to death.

The RT Nagar police have registered a case and Nayaz has been arrested. Search for the two associates is on.
