"TV actors have limited shelf life and it is upto them how to present themselves. By being choosy you can prolong your career and keep viewers int erst in you intact. I would like the audience to miss me," Sumeet told PTI.
He felt even though television was very demanding due to which creativity tends to get affected, its reach and the fame and money which come with it cannot be compared to films.

"Hence, even though money is an important factor, I decided to spend myself very miserly as an actor," he said.
"But I have always been like that since I started acting as child actor in 'Shrikant', 'Faster Fene' and then graduating to Marathi and Gujarati theatre," he said.
Presently, Sumeet is just doing one show 'Sajan Jhoot Mat Bolo' on Sab TV and 'Jayhind', a stand up comedy show on internet.

He says comedy comes naturally to him and no extra effort is needed. "Comedy is a serious business. Anybody who is good at it can do anything. When people say that I am bankable in a comedy show, I take it as a compliment."
In films, Sumeet was last seen in Ajay Devgn's 'U Me Aur Hum' and now he is gearing up for his next movie 'My Name is Khan', in which he has a cameo.

"'My name is Khan' is SRK and Kajol's travelogue and I am one of the characters they meet in their journey. I met Karan on one show 'Say Shava Shava' which I did for NDTV Imagine. Simi Garewal and Karan were judges. Karan told me that he would like to work with me some day. He called up when he was casting for the film saying that it is a small role with a twist but I would like you to do it," he said.
Another film is Vipul Shah's 'Kuch Love Jaisa' with Shefali Shah, Rahul Bose and myself.
"You will see a different Sumeet in the film it releases in April," he said.
Speaking about 'Jay Hind', Sumeet said it was the first ever internet televsiion show and had scored 20 million hits in just five months.

A contemporary and edgier version of the Movers and Shakers, it is the first high-definition (HD) and 16:9 format show in India.
He said it was a gamble that paid off for the show's producers who took a risk in making a show exclusively for the online platform.
"Little did they expect the online community to take so well to this novel concept. We had approached television channels with the show but then the producers Undercover Productions, company founded by Mrinal and Abhigyan Jha felt that internet will provide complete creative freedom," he said.

Sumeet said 'Jay Hind' was a hardcore stand up comedy show which takes a humorous look at topical issues in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
"We try to go under the skin of the what's going on. In a television channel, there would have been lot of interference but here we are the bosses," he said.

We have uploaded 42 episodes so far and the netizens have got to know the wicked side of me as a person. "I love doing stand up comedy and the humour here is intellectual and topical done in a sharp way to catch more eye balls," the actor said.
"India is yet to maximise the full potential of this medium and the Facebook page of Jay Hind already has over 3000 fans," he added.
