BJP vows to bring all services under Sakaala if voted to power

Last Updated 15 August 2015, 20:07 IST

Processing of applications of various departments under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be brought under Sakaala services if the BJP voted to power in the Palike, said Malleswaram MLA Dr C N Ashwath Narayan.

This will be done to ensure time bound delivery of services and also to keep track of issues better. He spoke at a meeting organised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) where the residents could interact with and know the party candidates of their respective wards in Malleswaram Assembly constituency.

Better responses
“Sakaala is getting better responses from the rural masses than urban. Here, for everything, we depend on touts and middlemen. To curb this, all applications should be processed under Sakaala and the officers should be held responsible for any lapses,” he added.

He said that several issues like public health, better sanitation and promoting government schemes need to be addressed better. “For instance, the government has set aside Rs 6,500 crores on health. However, implementation of measures for better public health has been a failure. Things can be better only when the residents join hands with people’s representatives,” Dr Ashwathnarayan added.

A platform
To have various issues sorted and giving residents a platform to express their concerns, use of technology is essential, he opined. The residents raised the issues like shrunk main roads, lack of PDS shops, irregular drinking water supply, parking woes at Sampige Road Metro station among others during the meeting.

G Manjunath Raju, a candidate of one of the wards in Malleswaram Assembly segment, said that the proper coordination between various civic agencies such as Bescom, BWSSB Police dept was important. Of the seven wards in Malleswaram Assembly constituency, BJP had won in six wards in 2010 polls. The party looks to better the result this time around.
