Thereafter, the couple threw a reception to a select crowd. And many from the industry came to to greet the couple. Kashinath, whose Anubhava, was Abhinaya's debut film at the age of 14, came in rather early, followed by composer V Manohar whose Hodeya Doora O Jotegaara song made the shy, unassuming actress a household name in the 80s.

Actress Sudharani came with daughter Nidhi, Jayanthi with daughter-in-law Anu Prabhakar. Also present were T N Seetharam, Baragur Ramachandrappa and wife, Nagabharana and wife, Nanjunde Gowda and others.

After Anubhava, Abhinaya saw moderate success in Eduru Mane Meena opposite Shivakumar.

However, the actress didn't get her due and was relegated to supporting or character roles. Her appearances became rare; she was last seen in Premigaagi Naa as the heroine's elder sister married to an alcoholic.

But Abhinaya fared well on the small screen with serials like Baduku, Kallu Sakkare, Amruthavahini etc. She got rave reviews for her negative role in Gouthami. The actress is currently working in Brindavana with director Rajendra Singh.

Easy going

Former Legislative Council chairman V R Sudarshan was trapped, but he hung on. Invited to be the chief guest at a film screening, Sudarshan was besieged by journalists who wanted to know why somebody so handsome, young and good-looking like him had not plunged into the cinema?

udarshan took a deep breath and replied that he had had hardly any time with his duties. This alumnus of National College, Basavanagudi was once enamoured by theatre but chose o concentrate on his tudies, following his parents' wishes.

With hardly anytime to watch films, the only film he can recall is Black But that doesn't mean he is averse to doing roles.
He has no qualms about taking up any role provided there’s a good script and
a solid message to be conveyed. He’s not for frivolous roles.
So, film makers watch out, here is a young man who can easily fit into an ideal elder brother or uncle's role.

Aakul thrilled

Actor Aakul Balaji is beset with mixed feelings. He is elated that his first Telugu film as a hero Neramu Shiksha is releasing tomorrow across Andhra Pradesh.

Directed by Guinness record holder actor-director Vijaya Nirmala under the well-known banner Vijaya Krishna Movies, the film stars Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, Jayasudha, Aakul and Akarsha. The film will also be released in Karnataka shortly. But Aakul is sad that his father, who passed away recently, is not there to share his success.
