Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister  T B Jayachandra on Friday said that an all-party delegation, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 24 at 4 pm in Delhi.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said, “The delegation will urge Modi to provide financial assistance to the State for dealing with drought situation and seek the Centre’s intervention on speedy implementation of the proposed Mahadayi-Malaprabha river linking project.”

He said the State government has already declared 114 taluks in the State as drought-hit. The government has not taken any decision on cloud seeding operation in the wake of deficit in rainfall. Cloud seeding done in the past had not yielded results on the expected lines, he added.
