The city is flooded with cafes and restaurants which aren’t affordable for college goers. Popular places like McDonald’s, Cafe Coffee Day and Dominos are frequently visited by students and professionals for pocket-friendly experience.

But with Cha Bar, they all have the option of a nice and cosy joint that offers delicious snacks, tea and desserts at the prices that don’t pinch the pocket.

Located at Oxford Book Store in Connaught Place, the place offers a refreshing range of culinary delights from all across the world.

Also, not to confuse the Cha Bar with an actual ‘bar’, the cafe is best known for its wide variety of tea and refreshing cocktail. It is the first of its kind urban contemporary space that was first created in Kolkata in 2000. Turning tea from a dry page in history to a lifestyle drink, the place offers plenty of options when it comes to tea.

Also heralding the concept to a book cafe, Cha Bar was created as an integral part of more than 90 years old iconic Oxford Bookstore in Kolkata’s Park Street. The concept was then expanded pan-India, as customers loved the experience of browsing at leisure and leafing through the books of their choice over a hot cuppa of chai.

With intrinsic white furniture and warm lighting, the owners have artistically created an ideal ambience to develop book reading culture.

The cafe has come up with some easy-to-have, filling and delectable range of food items. To start with, Jalapeno cheese poppers are a must try. Induced with the spicy flavour of jalapeno, red chilli and cheese, we bet you will finish them all in one go!

Moving on to their diverse range of wholesome dishes, Thyme grilled chicken, jalapeno and olive pizza is a good option. The revised menu will entice diners’ taste bud with classic dishes like Pickled vegetable and Hummus in Kaboush Pockets from the Middle East, the Classic American hotdog, Scoth eggs from England, Greek street food Lamb Souvlaki in Pita bread, and moving on to a sweeter note -

Fig and prune with maple drizzle muffin, Vanilla bean and chocolate heart muffin, Classic rum ball and Caramelised apple cake. A pocket-friendly range of delights while reading your favourite book and a refreshing cup of tea. What else do you need?
