MP promises amenities to hamlet

At a public contact programme organised by Mundoorpalike Abhivruddi Samanvaya Samiti (MASS) at the local primary school, the MP listened to the demands of the villagers regarding infrastructure like road, electricity, bridge, drinking water, public transport and a health centre.

Demands

The demands of the villagers included: asphaltation of Kokkada-Mundoorpalike-Perla-Baipady road, a bridge across Netravathi at Maipala, additional grant to the local school on the occasion of its silver jubilee, urgent completion of rural electrification scheme in remotest areas such as Holebadi, Maipala, Sibanthi, Mittadka, Thenkabailu and Mundoorpalike, drinking water project and separate health centre for Mundoorpalike and extension of bus service till Maipala.

The villagers also demanded an polling booth for the hamlet comprising of around 600 voters, and a comprehensive plan for the welfare of the members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

In his address, Nalin Kumar said he would speak to the officials concerned in order to fulfil the demands.

“I am of the view that people should not come to me, but I should go to the villages. Being a native of a small village, I am aware of the psyche of the villagers. Development is possible with the combined efforts of the public, elected representatives and officials,” he said.

Poovaje Kushalappa Gowda presided. Former MLA Prabhakar Bangera, TP member Mahabala Gowda, local leaders Sharada Rai, Cyril D’Souza and Lakshminarayan were present.
