Two burglars arrested, valuables worth Rs 17 lakh recovered

Sarasw-athipuram police have arrested two persons on charges of house burglary and theft and have recovered valuables worth Rs 17 lakh from them.

Ramakrishna alias Ramu, aged 27 years, a resident of Doddaballapur town, Bengaluru Rural district, and Pradeep alias ‘Hotte’, 28, Laggere, Bengaluru, are the accused.

They were moving in a suspicious manner near Bankers Layout here recently, when policemen took them into custody. Upon interrogation, the duo revealed that they had burgled houses at Saraswathipuram, Vijayanagar in the city and Jayapura on the outskirts.

Following their arrest, the police have cracked three cases registered in Saraswathipuram, two at Jayapura and one at Vijayanagar station limits.

The police have recovered 344.8 grams of gold, 1.5 kg of silver, a car and a two-wheeler worth Rs 17 lakh from them.

Their modus operandi was, they used to gain entry into locked houses by removing the door locks with screwdriver and a rod.

Raid on dhaba
The City Crime Branch (CCB) police raided a dhaba on the Outer Ring Road recently and seized liquor and cash worth Rs 13,150.

According to a press release from the police commissioner’s office, Ananda, aged 34 years, a resident of Bhyraveshwara Nagar here, was found serving food along with liquor at Appaji Family Garden Dhaba near GRS Fantasy Park under Metagalli police station limits.

The liquor was being served without licence. A total of 68 bottles of liquor worth Rs 6,700 and Rs 7,150 in cash were seized from the premises.The raid was led by ACP C Gopal, along with Inspector Raju and PSI Aruna Kumari.

One held
The CCB sleuths arrested a youth on the charge of transporting liquor on a two-wheeler, on Old Bank Road here.

Suneel, 30, a resident of K G Koppal was found transporting 58 tetrapacks of liquor worth Rs 3,000 in a plastic bag.
