JOIN USThe International Music and Arts Society in association with the Bangalore International Arts Festival is presenting a gala bharathanatyam performance ‘Under the Double Eagle’ on September 26 at 6.30 pm at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall.
Conceived, choreographed and performed by well-known dancers Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Sathyanarayan Raju, it is a tribute to the Wadiyars of Mysore and is a special presentation to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the International Music and Arts Society.
They use existing lyrics and compositions corresponding with each ruler’s era and choreograph the dance pieces that highlight the landmark achievements of each king.
Through this unique performance, the dancers have tried to make people aware of the glorious heritage and contribution of the Wadiyar dynasty. It was first performed in Chennai in 2013 as part of the Bhupalam Bharatam and was very well-received. For details, call 41122472.
