Govt supports bandh, says minister

Small Scale Industries and district in-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi said that the State government will support the Karnataka bandh call on Saturday given by the farmers’ organisations seeking early implementation of Kalasa-Banduri and Mahadayi projects.

The minister told mediapersons here on Friday that the State government had always been supporting the implementation of the drinking water project and would support the bandh call.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take the initiative to convene a meeting of chief ministers of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka and resolve the issue at a time when state is facing water crisis in the wake of drought,” the minister said.
