Students of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering are working hard to see their names on the offer letters of reputed companies. As there are many companies coming to the campus to hire talented, young people, students are utilising this opportunity to their best.

Compared to last year, the college has been able to rope in a good number of employers for campus placements this year through its placement cell. Some companies have completed their recruitment processes and a sizable number of students have been placed already.

Shashank B L from the Department of Electrical and Electronics is confident of passing the interview in flying colours.

“Finally, the market has got over the downward trend. Companies have once again come up with good offers and I am sure of clinching one such handsome offer. About preparing for it, I am thorough in aptitude and quantitative analysis. My communication skills are also more than satisfactory,” he says. Meanwhile, he is properly utilising the service of Centre of Innovation and Leadership, a training cell put up at the college to help students  prepare for interviews.

Vishwas V, a biotechnology student, is also happy about the placement opportunities  in the college. “We have got a new placement officer this year. He is doing a commendable job in getting the best employers for the students. I am pretty confident of sweeping the interview process. The good rapport I have built with some of my seniors has come to my rescue in this regard. They assist us in choosing the right company, informing about the growth prospects of that company, interview patterns and in choosing useful books,” he says.

Most of the students are happy that the market is getting better after recession. “Last year, our seniors were badly hit by the recession. There were hardly any opportunities. At least this year, we have a choice. Although some companies have completed their hiring process at the campus, I still have expectations,” says Karthik from the Department of Telecommunication.
