The “bonhomie” between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the BJP seems to have been blown away by Tuesday’s lynching of a Muslim over rumours of eating beef at Bisara village in Dadri in Greater Noida, with the Uttar Pradesh chief minister referring to the “Pink Revolution” remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch a veiled attack on him and asked him to ban beef exports, DHNS reports from Lucknow.

“Ye woh takaten hain jo pink revolution ki baat karte the....ab aap sarkar mein hain...ban kihiye beef export ko,” (the forces behind such incidents are those, who used to talk about the pink revolution..now there is your government...so ban beef exports), Akhilesh said, apparently referring to Modi’s opposition to the UPA government’spolicy of promoting beef exports, while speaking at an event here. “ You have been touring the world...marketing your country....you should know what kind of food they eat,” the chief minister said and added, that no one should interfere with one's food habits.
