A ragpicker was beaten to death by his friends over a financial dispute in Bellahalli in Kothanur police station limits. The deceased is Abdul Khader (18), a native of Myanmar.

He was residing in a makeshift shed in Kothanur with his father and  a few friends.
On Thursday night, Khader and his friends, Arun, Nawaz and Zainab, entered into an altercation. Khader had borrowed money from his friends and they asked him to return it.

In a fit of rage they beat up Khader, who began bleeding. Khader's father tried to stop them. However, they pushed him aside and assaulted him too. They noticed that Khader was unconscious by then and fled.

A few other ragpickers rushed Khader to hospital where he was declared brought dead. They informed the police who shifted the body for post-mortem. The police are on the hunt for the attackers. “These people lead a vagabond life. We are questioning the father of the deceased as to how they reached here from Myanmar, as they do not have any documents,” said a police officer.
