Sonia Gandhi attacks RSS

In a veiled attack on the RSS, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said people of a “particular ideology” were using India’s rich traditions of unity in diversity to divide the country.

“Our vibrant tradition of diversity is in danger. The diversity that gave us our identity and made us unique is being misused by organisation of a particular ideology to divide the country,” said Sonia at a function to confer the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration on social activist P V Rajagopal.

She said the incidents of hate, violence and petty mindedness being unleashed were part of a pre-determined plan. “But such evil and dangerous plans will not fructify. The people of India will never allow these dangerous forces to succeed,” she said.
