Widespread rainfall in parts of Karnataka

Several parts of the State received moderate to heavy rains on Monday. Rains lashed parts of Shivamogga district. Hosanagar, Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar, Thirthahalli, Shikaripur and some parts of Sorab received the rains. Tree branches fell on roads in Kargal.

The rain, which started around 8 pm, lashed Shivamogga for more than hour. Several roads in the city were waterlogged.

Rain water gushed into houses in low-lying areas. Many parts of the district witnessed rains towards the evening. The water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1793.95 feet against the maximum level of 1819 feet. The inflow of water 740 cusecs.

Several parts of Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts too received rains on Monday night.

It rained heavily in Huliyar of Chikkanayakanahalli taluk and Tovinakere in Koratagere taluk.
All parts of Chikkaballapur district received good rains on Sunday night and there was drizzling on Monday night. Some parts of Myusuru and Hassan district also received rains.
