<p>The members of BJP district unit staged a protest in the city on Tuesday demanding an apology from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his statements over consumption of beef.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The protesters, who gathered near the deputy commissioner’s office, raised slogans against the chief minister. They said he has hurt the sentiments of Hindus by issuing such statements.<br /><br />“The chief minister Siddaramaiah has said that nobody can question him if he prefers to eat beef. Despite knowing that Hindus consider cow as a holy animal, he has been issuing such statements. The people of all religions have voted him to power. But he is trying to keep a section of the people happy with such remarks,” they criticised.<br /><br />Chief minister Siddaramaiah should withdraw his statements and seek a public apology, they demanded.</p>
