The Home department will soon construct a housing complex on the two-acre land available at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) headquarters near Sirsi Circle on Mysuru Road, Home Minister G Parameshwara has said.
He was speaking to reporters after visiting the CAR headquarters on Tuesday. He reviewed the existing conditions in the campus and directed the officers to improve basic amenities.
He visited the library and advised students to excel in the fields they choose. He also inspected the police welfare centre where the police uniforms are stitched. He expressed displeasure over the poor maintenence of the garden and directed the staff to ensure cleanliness.
The women in the residential quarters complained about irregular water supply and repeated blockages in the drainage. The minister promised to address the two problems at the earliest.
“The chief minister has released more funds for the welfare of the police personnel. The Police Housing Board is constructing more houses for the policemen,” he said. The minister added that steps would be taken to renovate the police quarters in Bengaluru.
