With Maggi getting approvals from government-approved laboratories, Nestle India is all set to bring its popular noodles brand into the market within this month.

“We have received results from all the three laboratories accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) as mandated by the Bombay High Court to test newly manufactured Maggi noodles samples. All the samples of the Maggi noodles masala have been cleared with lead much below permissible limits,” Nestle India said.

“Now that the orders of the Bombay High Court have been complied with, we will make our best endeavour to commence the sale of Maggi noodles masala within this month, as well as continue engaging with states where permissions are needed or specific directions may be necessary,” the company said.

Nestle India currently manufactures Maggi noodles at three locations – Nanjangud (Karnataka), Moga (Punjab) and Bicholim (Goa).

“For the other two locations at Tahliwal and Pantnagar, we are engaging with the relevant authorities in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand to obtain directions for commencing manufacture of Maggi noodles,” the company said.

The company had conducted over 3,500 tests representing over 200 million packs in both national as well as international accredited laboratories for testing and all reports were clear. In addition to these, various countries, including the US, the UK, Singapore and Australia, among others, had found Maggi noodles exported from India safe for consumption.

The FSSAI had, on June 5, 2015, ordered Nestle India to withdraw and recall the nine approved variants of its Maggi instant noodles from the market, having found them “unsafe and hazardous”, and stop further production, import, distribution and sale of the product.
