The movement of trains was affected on Hassan-Mangaluru route as two wagons of a goods train derailed between Yedakumeri and Siribagilu stations on Sunday night.
The goods train was bound to Kallayi in Kerala via Mangaluru when the mishap occurred.
A breakdown special train from Mangaluru left for the accident spot at 8.40 pm. Following the mishap, train No 16518/ 16524 Kannur/Karwar-Bengaluru Express, scheduled to leave Mangaluru Central Railway Station at 8.55 pm did not depart at the scheduled time.
