Baffling as it may sound; the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) does not have records of sums spent on the travels of its chairpersons.
Replying to activist Anil Galgali’s RTI application, the institute has said details of FTII chairman’s travel expenses are not available with it in “complete format”.
“The institute do not maintain account for individual student, staff or supplier,” FTII Chief Accounts Officer U A Dhenke said in his response, insisting that the B&A section maintains accounts as per government norms. He further said the B&A section is concerned only with payment of bills submitted by the institute’s various sections/ departments and do not deal with any file/records or approval of bills.
