VMukti Solutions, No.2 in the ‘2015 Deloitte Technology Fast50 India’ list which fetes high-growth technology companies, is all set to become the next unicorn in the country by setting new benchmarks in cloud-based interactive streaming technologies.

According to Deloitte, the company logged an astonishing 1,025 per cent three-year growth. In an interaction with Deccan Herald, VMukti Solutions co-founder and chairman Hardik Sanghvi said, “Our ambition is to become a unicorn in the country with more than $1 billion in valuation next year.” Unicorn is a term used to refer to venture-backed private or public companies in the technology niche valued at over $1 billion.

“We have brought transformations in cloud-based video streaming, surveillance, and meetings. Our interactive live video streaming technology, backed by Web and mobile-based applications, has been able to use low-bandwidth speeds and operate on existing communications infrastructures. It has really reduced the cost,” he said.

“VMukti would be achieving $2 billion valuation status within a couple of years and for that we are banking on our research and technology department to come up with more disruptive technologies. Right now we are looking for funding and it will enable us to increase our market share,” he said.

Integrating hardware and software technology, VMukti’s cameras are enabling high quality interactive cloud video monitoring and streaming. Customers will get real-time feed via their mobiles and VMukti has also developed analytics to give alerts. Its flagship CloudCam product AmbiCam has been well received by enterprises, individuals, and government services, Sanghvi said.

“Our high quality interactive hardware and software video encoder, media server, and decoder technology platform and applications based on unique video compression algorithm have been appreciated in eCommerce, homeland security, election campaign (booth monitoring), education (conducting exams), etc.,” he said.

Sanghvi said the company has been handling 500,000 hrs/per day of HD videos. “We have established a server at Chennai and plans to expand it once demand picks up. We are finding new business opportunities in healthcare and defence. We do hope that next year we will get all clearances to enter the defence sector.”

Ambicam Pro, the latest inbuilt streaming camera to be launched next month, will have a wide 130 degree area of view and 20-metre infrared for better night vision. “It has already received 3,000 pre-launch orders. We will become part of Make in India next year by starting manufacturing in India,” he said.
