Investments in the State take a beating

State ranked ninth in ease of doing business

Flow of industrial investment into the State has shrunk between 2013 and 15 compared to investments the State received between 2008 and 2012.

According to a written reply by Industries Minister R V Deshpande to BJP MLA B Y Raghavendra, of the 255 projects approved by High Level Clearance Committee (HLCC) and State-level single window committee in 2013-14, a total of 24 projects have been implemented.

In 2014-15, 108 projects were approved and only seven of them were implemented.In 2012-13, a total of 776 projects were approved by both the committees and 36 of them were implemented. Of the total 470 projects cleared in 2011-12, 53 were implemented. The Congress came to power in May 2013.

The BJP was in power between 2008 and 2013. The minister has also stated the State has got ninth rank in ease of doing business in the country.
