Five men, who were arrested for a techie’s kidnap, have confessed to another kidnap.
The five accused had kidnapped a 30-year-old techie on November 4. Mohan, Kavithan, Senthil Kumar and Shankar were arrested when the techie’s wife went to hand over the ransom. Based on the information they provided, their accomplice, Firoze, was also nabbed.
During the interrogation, they confessed to the kidnap of another techie on October 20 near Singasandra. They had asked for a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from his family. They also used the victim’s ATM card to withdraw Rs 15,000. After they received the ransom, they assaulted the victim and deserted him in an isolated spot.
“The family had registered a case at the Electronics City police station. During this interrogation, the other kidnap case also came to light. We have recovered Rs 4.95 lakhs in cash from them,” said a senior police officer.
