Document clinical practices in Ayurveda: Balendu Prakash

Balendu Prakash, Director of VCP Cancer Research Foundation-Dehradun, on Friday, asked young researchers and Ayurveda practitioners to document their clinical practices, as they play a major role in their career development.

Delivering the keynote address during the inaugural ceremony of a two-day national workshop on ‘Grahana Dosha,’ organised by JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, here, on Friday, he said, learning was a part of the life and the process should be continuous. “Documentation of research is vital for future generations also. Don’t run behind name and fame. Instead, be honest and deliver effective work, everything will come behind you,” said Prakash.

He asked the participants to work towards the welfare of people and society. Due to innovations, medicines should be affordable even to the poorest people, he said.

Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) Director Harsh Vardhan Bhatra shared his experience with Ayurveda medicines and pointed out that digestive system-related issues emerge mainly because of changed lifestyle and food habits.

“Proper digestion is sign of good health and it also may avoid many diseases. The food we consume is very important for a healthy body,” he said.

The workshop was intended to give a multi-disciplinary approach to aetiology, early diagnosis, laboratory diagnostic methods and also their treatment. The aim is to bring together renowned scholars, academicians and experts in the field of Ayurveda and conventional field of medicine to unravel their experiences in diagnosis, prevention and effective and curative treatment of ailments of Grahani, said organisers.
